Fin de la collaboration entre Ruggero Catania et Romano Nervoso

Je ne serai pas sur scène avec Romano Nervoso ce soir.
Il y a parfois des choses dans la vie qui vont dans une direction que c’est pas la direction attendue et espérée.
C’est bien le cas.
La collaboration entre moi et Romano Nervoso arrive donc à la fin. Les raisons, on pourrait en parler pour des heures, mais ce ne sont pas des raisons intéressantes ou importantes pour ceux qui nous suivent.

Je veux donc remercier les gens qui ont rendu cool ces années de rock’n’roll. Le public d’abord, les fans, les techniciens, les musiciens, les salles de concerts, les festival, les organisateurs, les labels, attachés de presse, les booking agents, promoteurs, la crew des concerts, les studios et les autres. I care about you all. I really do.

Je remercie également les Romanos passés, présents et futurs et je souhaite au groupe une bonne continuation.

Moi, j'arrête pas la musique, au contraire, je suis sur plusieurs projets.
Si vous lisez ça, vous savez où me trouver.

Corsi di Musica - La chitarra come punto di partenza per andare oltre

Questo mio allievo non aveva neppure 12 anni quando ha scritto questo brano.
Lui aveva scritto il primo verso, e da lì  l'ho accompagnato nella composizione cercando di lasciarlo libero di creare, ma aiutandolo ad individuare le idee più efficaci e quelle meno efficaci, e le frasi più funzionali.
Ho aggiunto qualche accordo e l'ho guidato nello sviluppo della melodia, indirizzandolo nell'intenzione e nel registro, cercando, come si dice, di farlo "sfociare" nel ritornello.

Ad un anno di distanza, mi sembra ancora un buon brano.

Amo questo, dell'insegnamento.
Continuo a chiamarle lezioni di chitarra, ma quello che mi interessa è proprio l'interdisciplinarità.
Chitarra, basso, composizione, arrangiamento, registrazione, preparazione al live, music business.
Mi piace fornire gli strumenti adatti e condividere quelle 4 cose che ho imparato in 30 anni di musica.
Forse è proprio questo che credo di poter dare: una visione di insieme.

Questa è una versione che ho suonato io,  volevo cimentarmi ;)

Se si chiama Sistema Nashville e non Sistema Pinerolo, ci sarà un motivo

Io nella mia carriera musicale sono stato particolarmente fortunato, il che mi ha forse portato ad essere particolarmente presuntuoso e particolarmente pigro. Detto questo, credo che i metodi di insegnamento statunitensi siano un kit di sopravvivenza per il musicista pop in senso lato, mentre in Italia mi pare sia sempre stata molto netta la differenza tra chi suona col cuore e con le orecchie, e chi studia teoria tutta la vita; un po' come se le due scuole fossero diametralmente opposte o poco rispettate l'una dall'altra. La stupidità (mia, prima di tutto) nel non avere capito prima l'importanza della codifica del linguaggio, nascondendosi dietro la bandiera del rock'n'roll. Mentre di fatto sarebbe stato sufficiente un corso di una mattinata a rendermi la vita più facile.

DIY Guitar Strap Lock with a bottle cap - How to - Tutorial

When you're touring and and the promoter brings you a spare guitar without strap lock, you definitely don't want to see that '78 unique Les Paul fall on the floor, right?
Well to avoid to argue with him, create your own strap lock in 5 minutes!

TIP 1 - The clip is just a quick idea, obviously you wanna match the hole with the screw in your guitar body. But it works, it saved my life several times.

TIP 2 - Keep in mind this technique doesn't work if you just forgot your strap but your screws come from a real strap lock system. Usually the top of that screw is not large enough to avoid the strap to tear away, with or without cap. So find another "locker" around or replace the screw with the original larger one before placing the plastic cap.

Music for theater: Elle(s) - the end of the tour

2 days ago we played "Elles(s)". We have been on the road with that show for 3 years or what, now it's time to stop. I'd like yo thanks Sylvie and Jessica for the journey together, and all the other boys and girls somehow involved. We had good times and bad times, nice venues and horrible venues, but for a rocker like me it has been such an incredible experience to compose and play in front of that kind of audience instead of in front of drunk rastapunk. Pellegrino - Carl Sagan live set : Ableton, Novation Launchpad and AKAI MPD 32

OK, OK, this post is not guitar-related.
But maybe you know I run and indie label with some friends of mine, and this guy called Pellegrino has just joined our roster.

This video is a preview of how his live-set will look like.
Minimal.

An Ableton Live Session with some controllers like the well known Novation Launchpad and the AKAI MPD32.
Images, animations and light show will be part of the performance.

"Carl Sagan" is a tribute to the well known astronomer (born in Brooklyn on the 9th of November 1934), who wrote "Reflections on a grain of Dust" which inspired the musician Marco Pellegrino's work. The description of the last photograph of the Earth taken in 1990 from the spacecraft Voyager 1 from a distance of six billion miles from Earth is the starting point a journey into darkness, floating in outer space. Pellegrino is a musician and video maker. He tells the story of Sagan using an eclectic, coded message which is Intense and dreamlike using images, sound and light and shade. Marco Pellegrino was born in Novara, Italy and now lives in Rome.

Mi sono divertito non poco a doppiare il riff iniziale.

Stessa Telecaster, stesso ampli VHT, ho solo differenziato l'ottava del lick che chiude il riff.
